It is the nomination for the Habano of the Year Awards, a prize that has been given since 1995, when even this meeting was not yet a Festival as such (1999), and with the purpose of stimulating the promotion of this Cuban luxury product.

Therefore, for the occasion, the list of nominees in the three existing categories has already been published: Production, Business and Communication.

In each category a winner will be chosen, whose prize will be awarded at the gala or final night of the Festival scheduled for Friday, March 1 in the halls of the Pabexpo fairgrounds, at which time there will be an auction of exclusive humidors (cigar furniture), true works of art, with very particular cigars.

This moment rewards the chosen ones with a statuette in silver and marble that is always created by Cuban goldsmith-sculptor Raul Valladares (its creator) and that resembles that of the Oscars of the American cinematography, in fact this Habano of the Year Award is considered the emulator of the cinema but as far as cigars are concerned.

In addition, the award winners receive a box of their favorite Havana cigars for life, every year, as a boost to their taste for these cigars.
