According to the statement published by Sputnik this Tuesday, “Russia is strengthening partnerships and developing new markets along with other producing countries, with the participation of representatives interested in the diamond-cutting and trading industries in the Middle East and Asia.”
On December 18, the European Union (EU) unveiled its 12th round of restrictive measures on Russia, including a ban on imports of Russian diamonds and economic sanctions on 86 institutions and 61 individuals.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in eastern Ukraine since February 24, 2022. The aims of which, according to President Vladimir Putin, are to protect the population from Kiev´s genocide and to address the national security risks posed by the advance, towards the east, of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The policy of containment of Russia is West’s long-term strategy, whose sanctions are dealing a heavy blow to the world economy.
