According to an information, issued Tuesday by the FAO press office, the official presentation of the report will take place on March 5 with a high-level round table at the organization’s headquarters in Rome.
Entitled “The Unfair Climate: Measuring the Impacts of Climate Change on the Rural Poor, Women and Youth,” the study shows how the effects of climate change on income and adaptation in rural areas varied by gender, wealth and age.
According to the document, the study used new empirical evidence based on socioeconomic data collected from more than 100,000 rural households in 24 countries.
This work is part of global efforts to address the climate crisis and its impact on people, especially the most vulnerable, due to its effect on agri-food systems and its impact on the incomes and livelihoods of rural people in low- and middle-income countries.
