The Ministry of Education adopted the decision after evaluating the scenario, although the Risk Management Committee for School Safety of its office in that department continues to be active, it detailed in a statement.
In response to the incidents, the entity asked families to be attentive to the information provided by the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED), local authorities and the official media of the Ministry.
The Government argued on Monday that the wildfire in the inactive Agua volcano was 30% extinguished, after five days of operations of merged forces to control the emergency.
CONRED’s Spokesman Rodolfo Garcia reported a 60% control of the flames and the use of over 48,000 gallons of water in aerial and terrestrial tasks.
Different response brigades arrived early Tuesday morning to continue putting out the fire on the slopes of the colossus, 3,760 meters high.
The CONRED described in a recent update that in the present season, which began in December until June, there are 351 wildfires out of 500 fires with 1,377 hours of firefighting.
