This is the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).
Among the conclave’s purposes is to analyze how to solve the loss of biodiversity and pollution.
Regardless of where we live, if you are polluted in Asia, so am I; if you have lost biodiversity, it is a loss for all humanity, United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Executive Director Inger Andersen told reporters.
The meeting is scheduled to end on Friday, March 1.
It is expected that world leaders and some 5,000 representatives of governments, civil society, and the business sector attend the event, organizers said.
