For a city more committed to its historical legacy, the distinction is given to entities and personalities who have excelled in multiple tasks related to the care of a socio-cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO on more than one occasion.
Also as part of the celebrations for the 27th birthday of the institution, recognitions were given to professionals such as María Carmenates, director of the Master Plan of the OHCC, Fernando Barcelona, an outstanding scholar of the Office, Kezia Henry, Henry Mazorra and Lourdes Gómez, all of them with a remarkable trajectory.
The director of the OHCC, José Rodríguez, praised the work of his colleagues and insisted that “without so much love and dedication amid so many vicissitudes, on your part, we would not have reached this point with the pride that characterizes us.
The Office of the Historian of this city is responsible for various projects for the safeguarding of our culture and identity, a living entity and protagonist of projects ranging from international academic collaboration to the training of children with disabilities, actions that include a RestorationSchool Office.
This February, the OHCC held a new edition of the event Challenges in the Management of Cities, which had an international character, with the participation of specialists from the Network of the Historian and the Conservator of Cuba, as well as academics from different universities in the country.
