Meeting of mutual solidarity Venezuela/Cuba to debate on US blockade

Caracas, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) With a master conference on the economic, commercial and financial blockade, sanctions and unilateral coercive measures as a form of imperialist aggression against the people, the 13th National Meeting of Mutual Solidarity Venezuela/Cuba will begin, it was announced today.

The event will be held on March 1 and 2 in Maracay, state of Aragua, in the central north of the country, and will be attended by the president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People and Hero of the Republic, Fernando González, and Karina Carpio , regional governor.

The attendance of the ambassador of Havana in Caracas, Dagoberto Rodríguez, is also planned, according to the program released this Saturday on the official account of the @FidelidadACuba Movement.

The agenda also includes the conference “Bolívar and Martí, Fidel and Chávez, precursors of anti-imperialism in the struggles for the emancipation and independence of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples”, and “role of youth in the context of mutual solidarity among our people.” A third conference will deal with “communication as an imperial weapon of aggression against the independence and sovereignty of the peoples of Venezuela and Cuba.

The 13th Meeting will have discussion tables, in which they will debate history, youth and communication, a former house of El Libertador Simón Bolívar will be visited and will close with a final declaration.

The national coordinator of the Venezuela-Cuba Mutual Friendship and Solidarity Movement, Yhonny García, said weeks ago that the two-day event is of great importance for the “consolidation of solidarity between our peoples.”

Also for the strengthening of the bridge of friendship and historic brotherhood between Caracas and Havana, García highlighted in statements to Prensa Latina.

The member of the national coordination María E. Quintero stressed that the Movement is an expression of the commitment, love and solidarity of Venezuela with the “brother people of Cuba” and turned the dreams of commanders Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro into a “beautiful reality” of participation and brotherhood.
