According to the head of the Department of Leaders at the UM, Inalvis Leyva, the institution is working this year on training with a solid program that consists of courses for new directors of municipal tertiary centers and university faculties, training in managerial skills and intensive courses of political updating.
In addition, the university is surging its actions with the special group of youngsters by promoting actions to educate the informative discipline of the leaders, implement the results of scientific research and intensify the political and ideological formation, she added.
Leyva commented that in 2023, 31 leaders were appointed, including 22 women and 11 of them younger than 40 years, although it is still necessary to select young people to take leading roles at the UM, since there is still a generation gap between the experienced teachers and the younger ones.
She noted that one of the key processes is the constant monitoring of the preparation of teachers in terms of raising their teaching category.
Jorge Rodriguez, who is the cadre director at the Ministry of Higher Education, explained that reducing the positions that do not have defined reserves, ensuring that there are immediate reserves in all posts, filling vacancies and developing the design for the transition of the reserve are premises on which the university must act with greater emphasis.
