There are already more than 180 actions against Pentagon forces in Syria and Iraq and they are claimed by the Iraqi Islamic Resistance, an ally of the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism and occupation.
The aforementioned entity assures that its actions are part of the approach of resistance to the occupier and in response to the US support to the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Officials close to the U.S. Department of Defense said that since October 7, 2023, attacks against U.S. bases have killed three soldiers while another 143 people have been wounded, nine of them seriously.
Washington maintains some 15 bases on Syrian territory without the consent of the Damascus government, nor the approval of the United Nations.
Syria repeatedly denounced this presence, which it described as an occupation, and assured that the actions of the U.S. military in the national territory encourage terrorist activity and aim at destabilizing the country and plundering its wealth.
