The novel idea, just after the triumph of 1959 in Cuba, was not long in coming and on March 31 of that year the National Printing House was founded, which meant a great crusade in favor of education and culture, he recalled.
In an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina, the journalist and, above all, undisputed literary promoter, underlined how the Cuban book is still a cultural asset of the people.
Rodriguez Sosa explained that despite the current difficulties in the international scenario and crises, those jewels of knowledge continue to be marketed in our nation at very affordable prices, in addition to evoking the 65th anniversary of the Publishing System in Cuba.
Cuban books are among the cheapest books sold in the world and the Revolution has maintained and subsidized this instrument as a way for the people’s intellectual development, Rodriguez Sosa pointed out.
There are many reasons to recognize and admire it in this 2024 celebration, for being a way to acquire wisdom, said Rodríguez Sosa, who is also a literary critic.
