Executives of the Ministry of Agriculture (Minagri) stated the day before, at a press conference, that the control will make it possible to characterize the current state of the livestock sector, which also includes a wide-ranging inspection of the registration of livestock ownership.
They will also collect updated information on the use of equipment, technologies and inputs for livestock production in the fields.
According to information provided by Cuban television news channel, the inspection exercise will involve the participation of all Minagri CEOs and experts, together with specialists from the municipal delegations of that branch.
During the past year, Minagri was subject to an inspection by the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament), which urged its producers to give a greater boost to agricultural activity.
The report, debated in December during one of the sessions of the legislative body, reports an increase in crimes in that sector, particularly against livestock and other economic targets.
