Belgrade, Feb 22 (Prensa Latina) A delegation of Cuban specialists attended the opening of the 45th Serbian International Tourism Fair, which this year has Greece as the guest of honor.

Madelén González-Pardo Sánchez, Tourism Counselor at the Cuban Embassy in Italy, Yudielda Esponda Pedroso, Travel Official of the Cubanacán Hotel Chain, and Ambassador Leyde Rodríguez Hernández, attended the inauguration.

The Cuban delegation has a stand to promote tourist trips to Cuba and plans to hold business meetings and cultural activities related to Cuban music.

Official sources of the Serbia International Tourism Fair reported that Cambodia, Ecuador, Saint Lucia, Libya were presented at the Fair for the first time, and that Cuba is among the countries returning to the event.

In his keynote remarks at the opening, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that he will not be satisfied if by 2027, when the next Expo takes place, Serbia has had fewer than eight million tourist visits.

“If there is one below eight million, I will be absolutely dissatisfied. I hope that, if we advance at this pace and with everything we planned and did, we will be able to reach ten million,” said Vučić, who reiterated that in 2023 the number of foreign guests exceeded that of domestic tourists for the first time in the history of Serbia.
