The official stated that the elimination of this beachhead on the Eastern bank of the Dnieper River brought to an end the so-called counteroffensive of Kiev’s forces, the TASS news agency reported on Wednesday.

According to Shoigu, the Russian forces finished clearing the town of Krynki, in the Kherson region, and there are no enemy forces or weaponry left in the place.

The minister recalled that the losses of the Ukrainian troops during the counteroffensive amounted to 166 thousand casualties between dead and wounded, more than 800 tanks, and nearly 2,400 armored combat vehicles.

“We can say that more than half of the German Leopard (2) tanks have been destroyed, and Ukraine has lost 123 aircraft and helicopters,” he added.

He also assured that despite its magnitude, the Ukrainian counteroffensive did not even reach the first line of defense of the Russian Armed Forces.
