Bolivia condemns Moroccan repression against the Saharawi people

La Paz, Feb 21 (Prensa Latina) The ambassador of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in Bolivia, Ahmed Salem Mohamed Ahmed, deplored today the repression of the Government of Morocco against that people.

Our president, Brahim Ghali, in his letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Gutérres, condemned the recent wave of Moroccan escalation’, said the diplomat in statements to Prensa Latina.

Salem Mohamed warned that this is ‘another chapter of State terrorism and the scorched earth policy practiced by the Moroccan occupying State in the occupied zones of SADR since 1975’.

He recalled that since November 13, 2020, the Moroccan occupier violated the cease-fire signed in 1991.

The diplomat indicated that reports show with videos how the Moroccan repressive forces demolished and burned the Saharawi rural houses and huts on the coast of the occupied city of Laayoune.

He assured that the Saharawi state condemns this new wave of the scorched earth policy in the occupied territories of SADR, based on the confiscation of land, the demolition of homes, the burning of their tents, all of which means the destruction of their livelihoods.

‘The SADR government warns that the whole Saharawi national territory, including its land, sea and air space, remains an open war zone, and we warn all the countries of the world and their companies of the dangers of carrying out any activity of any kind in the Saharawi national territory’, concluded the ambassador.
