The publishing house presents its new proposals this year at the Havana International Book Fair, a setting in which the director of Pathfinder Books of London, Jonathan Silverman, exhibitor and head of the stand, detailed the essential objective of the visit to this great literary festival in an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina. A friend of the Cuban Revolution and member of the Communist League in the United Kingdom, Silverman is an enthusiastic promoter of books on Marxist themes and revolutionary causes in the world.
That is the reason why he comes to this capital every year to participate in the Fair, in this 32nd edition with the volumes “Che Guevara on economics and politics in the transition to socialism”, by Carlos Tablada.
The other novelty of the publisher is the title “We have already passed the lowest point in the resistance of working people – The socialist workers’ party looks forward”, by Jack Barnes, Mary-Alice Waters and Steve Clark.
Both texts point towards socialist revolutions and with a marked emphasis, as a living example, on the Cuban one.
Pathfinder was born with the October Revolution and exists to offer the public texts necessary to forge proletarian parties in the countries where we live, Silverman declared.
There are colleagues here from Canada, the United Kingdom and other nations, and we have an international reach to promote mass parties, which can emulate what the Cubans did in ’59 (1959), he added.
We celebrate here the anniversary of the Cuban socialist Revolution. We are in continuity with the two most important processes in history: that of 1917 in Russia and this one in the Caribbean, said the speaker from the United Kingdom.
The 32nd edition of the great Cuban book festival runs until Sunday, February 25 and this year it has Brazil as the guest country.
