In statements to reporters after a meeting with the president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, the diplomat explained that on Wednesday, both parties will sign an agreement worth 90 million euros for the areas of blue and circular economy, justice and good governance.
The EU Secretary for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, will sign the financial agreement, as part of a broader four-year program to support national socioeconomic development.
The project aims to support initiatives related to economic diversification, human development and governance.
On the Angolan side, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Victor Hugo Guilherme, will pen the deal.
The ambassador described the cooperation framework between the EU and Angola as positive, and commented that at the meeting with Cerqueira, they also discussed the Joint Assembly between Europe and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACP), which will meet in Luanda on Wednesday.
