Upon receiving the head of China’s diplomacy at the Moncloa Palace, the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, stressed that China is a fundamental partner for world peace and stability, with the current emphasis on the search for a solution to the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.

Sanchez, who visited China in 2023 and met with President Xi Jinping, also spoke with Wang about the opportunities for economic and cultural cooperation, and noted the need to develop collaboration within a framework of balance and reciprocity, an official source said.

They also talked about the ties between the European Union and China, and global challenges such as the climate emergency.

On his social networks, the head of the Spanish Executive also praised China’s role in the international situation and both parties’ desire to consolidate the ties that have just celebrated 50 years of existence.

During the weekend in Córdoba, Andalusia, Wang met with his counterpart, José Manuel Albares, a meeting at which China’s announced its decision to lift the embargo on Spanish beef.

The Chinese foreign minister arrived here after attending the Security Conference in Munich, Germany.
