The event was held at the stand of the Serial Publications Room of the General Directorate of Media Communication, which in turn belongs to the Institute of Information and Social Communication, where the Agency’s Commercial Deputy Chair Victor Landa, and Editorial Director Ariel Barredo were present.
Barredo referred to Cuba Internacional, the first printed publication of Prensa Latina, with a vast overview of the main news on Cuba, while the Orbe newspaper reflects the work of correspondents in over 30 countries.
Nowadays, the popular Orbe has been gaining space, so much so that it is presented to readers in both formats, printed and digital, and also in color, Barredo revealed.That newspaper is issued in several nations, including Mexico as a supplement to La Jornada daily, as well as in El Salvador and Venezuela.
Regarding the Cuba Internacional magazine, the journalist said that the printed publication does not circulate but remains in digital form adapted to the new times, he noted.
The commercial deputy chair of Prensa Latina highlighted Orbe’s new supplements, such as the sports and cultural ones. Both supplements are currently very well received and we intend to incorporate another one that would be offered.
The Serial Publications Room presented the award to Barredo and Landa, on behalf of the agency’s presidency and vice presidency of information, and the entire editorial team.
