Replying to a question from Prensa Latina, Lavrov considered that all actions against Moscow, implemented in the EU, are also seen by EU citizens who will draw their own conclusions, he pointed out.
Russia has already stopped paying attention to EU´s repeated plans to increase economic pressure, the foreign minister noted, referring to a EU´s thirteenth package of unilateral punitive measures against Russia.
The Foreign Minister also commented to Prensa Latina that it was difficult for him to name the areas with greatest prospects for cooperation, since they are all crucial, and considered that coordination of actions in the international arena is also of utmost significance for both parties.
After meeting here with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez, Lavrov pointed out that in recent years the legal basis for bilateral collaboration has been strengthened with the signing of agreements, including those related to better conditions for Russian participation in Cuba’s economy.
Regarding fuel supply to Cuba, he claimed that the 2023 credit allocated for such a purpose was fulfilled and in 2024 that commitment should be maintained.
In this regard, he said that before the end of this semester a new session of the intergovernmental commission for economic-commercial and scientific-technical cooperation will be held.
As for the Levant crisis, Lavrov said that, regardless of opinions of other dignitaries, one can see how innocent people are suffering in the Gaza Strip.
For almost five months, he noted, more civilians have died, mainly children and women, than accumulated since the beginning in 2014 of Kyiv’s actions against rebel regions in the Donbas and in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, launched on February 22, 2022.
