Díaz-Canel expresses condolences over Namibian president’s death

Havana, Feb 19 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Monday signed the book of condolences opened at the Namibian Embassy in Havana, due to President Hage Geingob's death.

According to the Presidency of the Republic on its X profile, the Cuban head of State wrote, “We will never forget the brother and his shows of solidarity, love and affection for the Cuban people.”

After Geingob’s death on February 4, Díaz-Canel wrote on X that he will always remember the warm welcome that he received during his visit to Namibia, and the African leader’s role in favor of the historic relations of brotherhood between the two peoples.

Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also expressed deep pain at the news and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the people, relatives and friends of Geingob.

Hage Gottfried Geingob was born in Grootfontein on August 3, 1941. He was 82 years old when he died.
