The book was published by Artex’s Ediciones Cubanas and was written by Jaime Masó, who gathered the most significant moments in the fruitful career of this popular singer, pianist and composer, who is artistically known as “La Musicalísima” Beatriz Márquez.
She has devoted more than 50 years to music, and this book is a tribute to her life and work on stage.
Divided into six chapters, the volume gathers invaluable testimonies from family members, musicians, audiovisual producers and Cuban critics like Esther Borja, María Teresa Linares, Aida Teseiro, Orlando Quiroga and Roberto Fernández Retamar.
Other testimonies were provided by Jesús Ortega, Leo Brouwer, Marta Valdés, Miguel Barnet, Marilyn Bobes, Gerardo Alfonso, Mike Porcell, Lisette Vila, Frank Padrón, Tony Pinelli, José Ramón Artigas, Rey Montesinos, Evelyn García, Michel Maza, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Rembert Egües, and Miriela Mijares, among others.
