According to Granma newspaper, the analysis was conducted by Parliament President Esteban Lazo and was attended by Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero.

On behalf of the authorities, Marrero reaffirmed that each economic and financial measure will be put into effect when conditions are being created, which includes specific attention to individuals and families in vulnerable situations.

Leader Díaz-Canel, on the other hand, called for strengthening productive linkages between the non-state and state sectors, with a view, for example, to increasing food supply, domestic trade and import substitution.

Monday’s forum responded to a previous agreement passed by the Council of State deciding to systematically assess the implementation process of the Government’s measures to correct distortions and boost domestic economy, said Lazo.

These are decisions made, he recalled, to solve existing problems amid a complex context to defend the work and the main achievements of the Cuban Revolution and protect our population.

In December 2023, the Parliament announced the activation of a Macroeconomic Stabilization Program as part of the National Development Plan by 2030.
