Organized by the Women’s Studies Program of that Cuban cultural institution, the event will take place until February 23 and aims to promot the study of the continent’s history from the perspective of women’s participation in each struggle.
The was inaugurated at the Che Guevara Hall with a speech by Casa de las Americas President Abel Prieto, and intellectual and Program Director Luisa Campuzano.
Women’s positions in different spaces, violence, literature, masculinities and activism are topics that will be present in all 16 sessions of the program, which will be attended by representatives of universities and study centers from different countries in the region.
For three decades, the colloquium has been an annual space for feminist movements to challenge themselves and has allowed for the convergence of different social and cultural perspectives.
In the context of the activities for the 65th anniversary of Casa de las Americas, the event will take stock of the achievements of recent years and will contribute to socializing the challenges faced by women in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as their capacity for resistance in the world.
