Germany insists on Ukraine rearmament by sending Taurus missiles

Berlin, Feb 18 (Prensa Latina) Germany on Sunday insisted on rearming Ukraine as Chairman of the Bundestag Defense Committee Mari-Agnes Shtrak-Tsimmerman proposed sending Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Shtrak-Tsimmerman said that discussions continue at Parliament concerning Taurus cruise missile supply to Kyiv.

The debate will be held at the initiative of the opposition Christian Democratic Union, which the parliamentarian represents, commented local television news.

Our armed forces and everyone who is responsible for the delivery of weapons to Ukraine did everything possible, said the conservative MP, who criticized the Social Democrat Chancellor Olaf Scholz for preventing the delivery of the cruise missiles to Kyiv.

Recently, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denounced that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is waging a proxy war with his country by means of Ukrainian troops to whom it delivers tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers, anti-aircraft systems and missiles.

All war supplies to Ukraine are coordinated with Germany’s partners, including the United States, and for the time being we are engaged in providing the country with anti-aircraft means and artillery pieces, Scholz explained.
