“Count on Brazil”, Lula da Silva said as a guest at the opening ceremony of the 37th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU) under the theme “Educating for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems, to Increase Access to Inclusive, Quality and Relevant Learning in Africa”.
On his return to the continent, this time as President of Brazil, he reaffirmed the partnership and the bond of Brazil and its people with this fraternal continent.
“The African struggle has much in common with Brazil’s challenges. We, Africans and Brazilians, must chart our own paths in the emerging international order. We need to create a new global governance, capable of facing the challenges of our time,” he emphasized.
In this sense, he expressed the will to grow together with Africa, but without dictating a road-map to anyone. He also commented on the adoption, in Brasilia, of an ecological transformation project that will allow them to take a historic leap forward.
