The organization SOS Journalists strongly condemned the aggressions suffered by several reporters during the street rallies held on Wednesday, February 7 and Thursday, February 8, 2024, in the capital and several provincial cities.
In its statement, SOS journalists called on the police high command to take immediate action to identify and punish those responsible.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) also expressed its concern about the violence and pressures that journalists must endure today in Haiti to carry out their daily work.
The international organization condemned the attacks committed against reporters covering anti-government protests in the Caribbean country and called to respect the freedom and the right to information.
