Resistance Train will denounce measures of the Argentine Government

Tren-de-la-Resistencia
Buenos Aires, February 15 (Prensa Latina) The Resistance Train will depart today from the Merlo station to Marcos Paz, in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires, in protest against the measures of the Government of Javier Milei.

The initiative is organized by members of the Socialist Left (IS) together with a sector of the Railway Union and the trip will begin at 5:30 p.m., local time.

According to the Télam news agency, the tour will last an hour and once it is finished an event will be held.

Participants will denounce the increase in the costs of this means of transportation, as well as the lack of support for the sector.

They increased the price of the ticket and cut diesel train services by between 40 and 80 percent. Services were affected, works were paralyzed, there is a lack of maintenance and ticket office closures, which affects both staff and citizens, said the leader of the SI, Rubén Sobrero.

For her part, the railway delegate Mónica Schlotthauer recalled that workers from that medium participated in protest actions against a package of laws presented by the president that included the delegation of legislative powers to the Executive, the declaration of a period of emergency, the privatization of public companies and labor reform, among other actions.

Ella Schlotthauer celebrated that the so-called Omnibus Law was not approved by the Chamber of Deputies and urged to defend the train as an essential service.

According to Télam, workers in the sector are preparing details of a march to demand salary improvements.
