Yoannia Aguirre Gonzalez, director of the Provincial Center for Books and Literature, told reporters that “Memorias de un gladiador” (Memories of a Gladiator) a poetry book by Jose Sanchez Hernandez, and “Naturaleza muerta con abejas” (Dead Nature with Bees) by writer and playwright Atilio Caballero Menendez are copies to be presented at the literary encounter.

Other proposals produced this year by Mecenas Publisher House, such as “Tradiciones y Leyendas de Cienfuegos” (Traditions and Legends in Cienfuegos), a compilation by Maria de los Angeles Alvarez, make up the program of presentations, scheduled for February 20 in San Carlos de la Cabaña.

The Provincial Book and Literature Center of Cienfuegos will have a sales stand at that venue, where books by publishers from this territory, some 250 kilometers away from Havana, will be sold.

This year the Book Fair has Brazil as guest country and will be dedicated to philosopher, researcher, intellectual and 1998 National Prize for Social and Humanistic Sciences Isabel Monal and writer and art professor Francisco Lopez Sacha.
