Aliyev, 62, won the country’s snap presidential election with 92.12 percent of voters casting ballots in his favor.
Aliyev will lead the country for the next seven years.
Members of Parliament, ministers, and relatives of the president-elect attended the swearing-in ceremony.
According to the protocol, no foreign guests were invited to the ceremony.
Farhad Abdullayev, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, said that the court approved at a meeting held on February 13 the protocol of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on the results of the elections and declared Ilham Aliyev as the president-elect of the country.
Aliyev took an oath on the Constitution and promised to uphold the Fundamental Law of Azerbaijan, protect the independence and territorial integrity of the State, and serve the people honorably while exercising the powers as President of the nation.
