During the high-level meeting that will meet for two days, the discussion of collective priority areas among the representatives of the member states of the intergovernmental organization is expected.
In a statement, the Prime Minister of the British Virgin Islands, Natalio Wheatley, reported that he will hold talks with his peers, and said he is open to dialogue with “regional partners as we strive together towards a sustainable future.”
The authority of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States has sought to strengthen the free movement of citizens of member states since last year with mechanisms such as hassle-free travel, indefinite stay, no need for a work permit and mutual recognition of driver licenses.
The international organization is dedicated to economic harmonization and integration, the protection of human and legal rights as well as the promotion of good governance between the islands of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Montserrat, Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands.
