In a congratulatory message published on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Telegram channel, Putin expressed hope that “Bukele’s activity will contribute to expanding cooperation between the two countries in several spheres.”
The Russian president also wished Bukele success as the nation’s president, good health, and well-being.
The presidential elections were held in El Salvador on February 4. Bukele won with an overwhelming number of votes, never achieved before by any other president-elect.
