President of Argentina returns after his first international tour

Buenos Aires, Feb 13 (Prensa Latina) The president of Argentina Javier Milei will arrive in the country after his first international tour as head of state, which included visits to Israel, Italy and the Vatican.

After leaving on February 5th, the president fulfilled a varied agenda that included meetings with authorities and questioned pronouncements, such as his intention to move the embassy of Argentina in Israel to Jerusalem.

Last Sunday, Milei participated in the canonization mass of María Antonia de San José in the Vatican and was received on Monday in a private audience by Pope Francis. He also met with the Italian head of state, Sergio Mattarella, and the Prime Minister, Georgia Meloni.

During the days he was away, Argentine social and union organizations held protests against a package of laws sent to Congress, which did not obtain the necessary support in the Chamber of Deputies and was returned to committees, a fact that Unión por la Patria and Frente de Izquierda described as a defeat for the Government.

While in Italy, Milei described those who opposed the package of measures as criminals, and confirmed that La Libertad Avanza is working on a broader agreement with the Propuesta Republicana party, referring to the possibility of incorporating more of its members to his team, joining the Secretary of Security Patricia Bullrich and the Secretary of Defense Luis Petri.

During his tour, Milei requested the resignation of the Secretary of the National Social Security Administration, Osvaldo Giordano, and the Secretary of Mining, Flavia Royón, after the latter published a message, on X, titled “Change of Rules” criticizing the rejection of the Omnibus Law.
