Milei’s announcement contradicts Resolution 478 adopted in 1980, which urged countries to withdraw their diplomatic missions from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, recalled a release quoted by WAFA.
According to the text, the move “reflects President Milei’s determination to drag his country to the wrong side of history” and is a direct attack on the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent State, acknowledged by Argentina and most nations of the world.
The document also denounced that the decision was adopted amid the genocide and ethnic cleansing conducted by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.
We reiterate our total rejection of any measure or attempt to disregard the legal status of Jerusalem and call on Milei not to implement that illegal measure, which will have serious consequences, the statement stressed.
The Arab Parliament also condemned the Argentine president’s proposal last week.
Jerusalem’s legal, historical, and religious status is not subject to revision, and any step is a flagrant violation of international law, the regional legislative body warned.
