Minister of Information Technologies and Communications Mauricio Lizcano signed two Memorandums of Understanding with Omar Sultan Al Olama, minister of State for Artificial Intelligence in the Emirati nation.
With these agreements, the development of Artificial Intelligence and digital education will be promoted in the country, thanks to international cooperation with one of the States that has the most advances in technology issues in the world.
‘Today we signed an agreement to become an Artificial Intelligence Hub for Latin America.
This agreement includes the setting up of a Committee of Experts, the identification of the necessary infrastructure for research and for the development of digital and computational skills in order to build this Hub, and the sources of funding,’ said Lizcano.
The agreement on Artificial Intelligence aims to promote cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two countries, to encourage and promote innovation, competitiveness and social welfare, according to the communication released.
The agreements were penned during the celebration of the World Governments Summit that is taking place from Monday to Wednesday in Dubai.
