According to the institution, the small plane fell one mile off Punta Carola, in San Cristobal Island, where pilot, co-pilot and seven tourists were rescued in coordination with the Integrated Security Service ECU 911. According to authorities, the injured were taken to health institutions, although in a video released on social networks they appeared walking along a pier after the rescue.

ECU 911 stated there are no missing or deceased persons after the accident.
