On behalf of the MPLA leader and Angolan President João Lourenço, Luísa Damião told Namibia’s acting President Nangolo Mbumba that Africa lost on February 4 a convinced Africanist who fought tirelessly for the cause of his people, according to the Angolan Foreign Ministry.
At the House of States, Mbumba welcomed the Angolan delegation and said he felt comforted by João Lourenço´s, MPLA´s Angolan embassy´s and people´s condolence messages.
“Angola and Namibia are brotherly peoples,” Mbumba stressed.
Damião and his delegation also paid a visit to Hage Geigob´s official residence where she wrote down in the condolence book that Africa and Angola join the Namibian people in recalling “a tireless fighter.”
