Israel brushes aside calls to stop genocide, claims Cuban FM

Havana, Feb 12 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Monday said that the Israeli military offensive in Rafah disregards the international community´s calls to respect International Humanitarian Law and to halt the genocide over the Palestinian people.

On X, the Cuban Foreign Minister said that the bombing over 1.4 million people crammed into 55 square kilometers is a new evidence of Israeli genocide in Gaza.

Official reports indicated that over 100 Palestinians died during bombings over the city of Rafah, located in the south of Gaza, in an Israeli operation to free two prisoners.

Wafa News Agency reported more than 40 airstrikes Sunday night and Monday morning over homes and mosques in the center of the city.

Gaza´s health authorities reported that the Israeli air force attacked over Rafah, where 1.4 million people, most of them displaced by the aggression, are sheltering.

Likewise, Al Jazeera reporters informed that at least 63 people in two mosques in Rafah were killed.
