As part of her working visit to Cuba from February 11 to 13, the Bolivian foreign minister will hold official talks with her counterpart, Bruno Rodríguez, at noon on Monday, the Cuban Foreign Ministry confirmed on its official website.
The parties will review the state of bilateral relations, in the interest of expanding and strengthening such ties, as agreed late last year during the 8th Meeting of the Mechanism for Political Consultations, the source informed.
On the occasion, both countries evaluated their positions on relevant issues of the international context, and reviewed common approaches in the political, cooperation, environmental, educational, cultural, health, sports, economic-commercial, consular and migratory fields.
During her stay in Havana, Sosa will give a lecture at the University of Havana on Bolivia’s experience with respect to the ‘Industrialization and the Productive Community Social Economic Model.’
The distinguished visitor was welcomed on Sunday at Havana’s José Martí International Airport by the General Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Foreign Ministry (MINREX), Eugenio Martínez.
This is Celinda Sosa’s first visit to Cuba as a foreign minister, a position she assumed in November 2023, when he became the first indigenous woman to hold that high responsibility in Bolivia.
