The plane was hijacked in Argentina since 2022 and is owned by the Aerocargo del Sur Transport Company, a subsidiary of the Venezuelan airline Conviasa, a statement indicated.
The ALBA-TCP member states stated that these measures “flagrantly violate” the Convention on International Civil Aviation, the Charter of the United Nations and other current agreements related to International Law.
The Latin American and Caribbean integration bloc once again joined the demands of the people and Government of the Bolivarian Republic and supported the “legal, diplomatic and political actions” that Venezuelan institutions undertook to prevent the illegal appropriation of their assets.
This aggression, he stated, is another of the consequences of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government, which threaten the sovereignty of Venezuela and violate the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law.
The ALBA-TCP regretted that the Government of Argentina lends itself to this type of practices, which “transgress sovereignty and the principle of non-interference,” and makes a new call to the international community to denounce these events.
