Lebanon and Iran agree on ceasefire in Gaza to reach regional peace

1-11-768x347
Beirut, Feb 10 (Prensa Latina) Lebanese Interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian agreed here on Saturday on the need for a ceasefire in Gaza, after over four months of Israel's attacks.

At a meeting at the Government Palace (Grand Serail), Mikati stressed that the situation in the Middle East is complex, and efforts must continue to be made to achieve a ceasefire in the Strip.

In addition, the interim prime minister insisted on his country’s position to reach peace and stability for the region.

Foreign Minister Abdollahian said that some failed in their efforts to trigger a dispute between the Government and the people of Lebanon, on the one hand, and the Axis of Resistance, on the other.

The head of Iranian diplomacy welcomed the positions of support for Palestine and the Axis of Resistance.

Abdollahian commented that the US attacks on Yemen come in support of Israel and exacerbate the regional crisis. Thus, the foreign minister noted that such aggressions on Yemen reflect the contradiction of the US claims on its willingness to ease the situation and prevent the war from spreading.

The official added that Washington has not reduce arms shipments to Israel at all.
