FANB´s Strategic Operational Commander Gen. Domingo Hernández informed on X that the actions were conducted in the context of the operation Relámpago del Catatumbo.
He specified that two of the facilities functioned as labs for cocaine hydrochloride processing and the other ones as warehouses for logistic materials.
Hernández indicated that the unified anti-drug operation was carried out in support of the National Anti-Drug Command and FANB.
He underlined that Venezuela “does not produce or consume” narcotics and “we are not and will not serve” as a platform for the Tancol groups (Colombian drug trafficking armed terrorist groups).
The general in chief claimed that the Bolivarian Republic cracks down daily on transnational drug trafficking groups that permeate the border, to hide in the forests and border areas under environmental protection regimes such as natural parks and forest reserves.
He remarked that “Venezuela is a territory of peace”.
