Such movement is an entity, unique in the world, for Comprehensive Action Against Antipersonal Mines created within the framework of the 2016 Peace Agreement between the Government and the extinct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP), made up of peace signatories.
During the tour, they talked with members of the organization, and learned about the equipment, methods and actions they develop to carry out demining work as a contribution to the construction of peace and reconciliation in the territory.
In Agua Bonita, they further spoke with the signatories, communities and institutions to be posted on the productive and social initiatives they are pursuing. The plenary of the United Nations Security Council arrived in Colombia on Wednesday for a visit that will last until next Sunday.
On Thursday, the delegation had a meeting with President Gustavo Petro, and entities involved in the implementation of the Final Peace Agreement, the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), as well as members of Congress and signatories.
The Council expressed the support of the international community to the peace building process in the country.
