On Behalf of Iraq, he greeted the people of Lebanon, subject to Israeli attacks.
Accompanied by his Lebanese counterpart, Abbas Hajj Hassan, the Iraqi authority thanked the reception in the Levantine nation and praised the work of farmers in the production of healthy food.
In this regard, he highlighted the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two ministries, which constitutes an opening to the renewal of cooperation in all areas.
For his part, Hajj Hassan stressed that the visit of the Iraqi delegation to the south expresses solidarity with the Lebanese, and stressed the equation Resistance, Army and People in defense of the rights of the nation.
On the occasion, the minister said those who pressure Lebanon to comply with Security Council Resolution 1701 should address Israel, a country that constantly violates national sovereignty by sea, air and land.
On this issue, he emphasized that Lebanon is ready to abide by the UN provisions following the enemy’s commitment and its withdrawal from the national territory and the cessation of attacks.
He also acknowledged the efforts made by the Lebanese farmers and the owners of institutions and companies in the south, whose quality of production and accuracy of work were noted during the tour.
The Iraqi minister will hold talks in the country with the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, and will hold a meeting with the Beirut Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it was announced.
