The figure will be used to fight off these diseases from 2024 to 2026, GFATM’s Regional Director Ibrahim Faria stated.
According to Journal de Brazza, some 85 million people who suffer from HIV/AIDS in Congo, 20,000 with TB and 528 with malaria will benefit from GFATM´s assistance which will contribute to their treatment.
GFATM has a sustained work in Congo, where it contributes to strengthening health access to prevention and treatment services, as well as to create resilient and sustainable health systems.
One of GFATM´s goals over the years has been to significantly increase the number of people accessing antiretroviral HIV drugs, with a special focus on pregnant women.
They also contribute to non-governmental organizations that promote programs such as community mediators, who work on prevention and promoting adherence.
