Part of that vision is the deployment of the authorities in the streets to enhance contact with the people, in order to listen to their concerns and share with them the measures underway, he said during a meeting with the State Mission of the island in France, in the presence of the ambassadors to Paris, Otto Vaillant, and to UNESCO, Yahima Esquivel.
While giving details of Cuba’s strategies to face the prevailing complex economic scenario, he pointed out the commitment to various social programs, such as those aimed at housing and improving the health and education situation.
Other actions with advances are the deepening of women’s empowerment and the fight against any form of discrimination and racism, Marrero added.
He also highlighted, in the government’s projection, the attention to children, adolescents and youth, the generation of new jobs and the approach to phenomena related to the demographic dynamics, among them the aging population.
The strategy that focuses the government’s work involves updating prices in services, which will take into account, said the Prime Minister, the principle of subsidizing people and not products and supporting those who need it.
The issue of food security and the contribution of domestic production was another of the lines of work mentioned here.
Marrero recalled that for Cuba the context is particular, since in addition to the global crises and conflicts affecting the international community, there are the consequences of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years, a policy intensified in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Hostility is also present through destabilization campaigns and manipulation of reality, with demonstrations on social networks, he said.
