In Umerov’s opinion, ‘new approaches, new strategies are needed, therefore President Vladimir Zelensky considered it necessary to change the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’.
The military official added that Zelensky announced in a video message on his Telegram channel that he appointed Aleksandr Syrski as commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
Until now, Syrski commanded the land forces of the Slavic nation’s army, and was one of the names being considered to replace Zaluzhny.
