Syria reopens medical facilities destroyed by the war

Damascus, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous on Thursday reopened a hospital and a forensic medicine center after being rebuilt and equipped in Aleppo, the capital of the homonymous province, 400 kilometers north of Damascus.

Health Minister Hassan Al-Ghabash told reporters that the Doctor Martyr Zahi Azraq hospital was devastated during the years of the war that ravaged Aleppo between 2012 and 2016, and now opens its doors to provide health services for the entire population.

The hospital accommodates 150 beds and has several departments specialized in cardiac and chronic diseases, intensive care, radiology and dialysis, in addition to having a modern CT scan machine, he explained.

The Chief Executive also reopened the building of the Forensic Medicine Department, which has two floors.

The opening of these two facilities is evidence that despite all difficulties, the government work has not stopped and will continue the work to rehabilitate many hospitals in Aleppo and other governorates, to return them to their pre-war condition and even better, Arnous told the press.
