The event, which is tanking place at the Habana Libre Hotel, aims to promote the use of this free digital solution in the Cuban business environment with its use in business management, electronic commerce, hybrid events and different online platforms on Cuban society.
Desoft is represented throughout the country by more than 2,000 specialists and its clients include government institutions and firms like the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic, the National People’s Power Assembly, Habanos S.A., Tabacuba and Etecsa.
As it was learned at the Workshop, Odoo is an integrated ERP software. It has an open source community version under LGPLv3 license and an enterprise version under commercial license that complements the community edition with commercial features and services and developed by the Belgian company Odoo S.A.
The software is developed mostly with Python code and XML files and is interacted with through a web interface.
Desoft is the creator of the ERP Zoom LC Odoo, developed on the community version of Odoo, open source technology with more than three million users and a large international community of support and was presented in Cuba for the first time at the 2020 International Computer Fair.
Engineer Dany Jesús Valiente Prieto, General Director of Desoft, highlighted during the meeting the importance of using this free software for the computerization of Cuban society and its business system, closely linked to the Economic and Social Development Plan of Cuba for 2030.
