Two cases have been confirmed in Montevideo and the neighboring department of San Jose, the report noted the follow-up of 15 cases under suspicion in the departments of Canelones, Montevideo, Paysandu, Rio Negro, Rocha, San Jose and Soriano.
The Public Health Ministry considers suspicious cases, those patients presenting fever of abrupt onset, accompanied by headache or myalgia without involvement of the upper airways, and neurological manifestations.
Other suspicious cases are those with vomits, drowsiness, confusion, prostration, tremors, meningitis or encephalitis.
