According to the G1 portal, this will be Da Silva’s first visit to the region since the beginning of his mandate on January 1st, 2023.
The destination of the allocation was announced in August 2023, when the federal government included the hospital in the so-called Growth Acceleration Program.
Currently, the hospital covers 94 municipalities and serves an average of 1.7 million people each year.
A total of 180 million reais (36 million dollars) will be allocated to the work, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026.
The expansion works consist of the construction of 9 new blocks. The number of beds will increase from the current 137 to 356.
